The "Statistical advice" service

Preliminary information - please note:

A consultation or appointment can only be arranged after submission of a completed registration form - please read the following notes and the more detailed information on one of the following pages. "Quick consultations" in the sense of an emergency outpatient clinic - in particular consultations requested by telephone or at short notice by e-mail - are not provided within this framework (exception: the Omics Ambulance). Sound information without precise knowledge of the trial design and data structure is not possible.
 

The Institute of Medical Statistics and Bioinformatics (IMSB) provides statistical advice on scientific work carried out at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Cologne. This service is open to all scientists and students of the faculty and offers assistance with the following tasks:

• Study and experiment planning
• Selection of appropriate statistical methods
• Evaluation of data using statistical software
• Interpretation of the evaluations carried out and statistical evaluation of scientific publications

Note
Statistical advice on the doctoral project and the use of the hardware and software used at the IMSB is free of charge, provided it is purely scientific work that is being supervised. If projects are carried out in connection with a project funded by third parties, this must be stated when registering for the first consultation.
