Cooperation projects
These are cooperation projects with funding the services of the IMSB.
If you would like advice on research projects without funding, please go to “Advice on research projects and publications”.
Please also read the information on the previous page "Statistical consulting services".
The Institute of Medical Statistics and Bioinformatics (IMSB) is committed to good scientific practice. Please note therefore:
- "Quick consultations" in the sense of an emergency outpatient clinic - in particular consultations requested by telephone or at short notice by e-mail - are not provided within this framework (exception: the Omics Ambulance).
Well-founded advice is not possible without exact knowledge of the experimental design and the data structure. - The correct documentation and accuracy of the data sets supplied to us is an essential prerequisite for a valid analysis. We therefore do not process inadequately documented or incorrect data sets. For reasons of IT security, we do not accept zip files.
Procedure:
1. Registration
Please register using the online form "IMSB cooperation request".

Please submit the documents listed below - preferably via the e-mail address imsb-kooperationsanfrage [at] uni-koeln.de - if applicable to your project:
- Exposé or outline of the project
- For research projects: Test plan, if already available
- Blank tables or sketches of desired graphics for publications
- For publications, a literature search should already have been carried out and an introduction should be available
2. Contact person
You will be given a contact person for your project, depending on the capacities of the IMSB and the individual employees. Your contact person will arrange an appointment with you and provide statistical advice.
Waiting times are possible in individual cases, in which case you will be notified.

- Planning (e.g. hypotheses, analysis models, selection of target criteria, time points for the determination of the target criteria, study design optimization)
- Sample size calculation
- Randomization
- Data management (as far as biometrically relevant)
